SHOW ME YOUR ROUTINE..

... AND ILL SHOW YOU WHO YOU ARE

Have you ever heard the phrase,

Show me your friends, and ill show you who you are?

That is the phrase right? I do believe it makes sense and here is why

We will get to this answer in a round about way and in that way we will get to the purpose of this post anyways. Lets define the word routine.

performed as part of a regular procedure rather than for a special reason

that last part hits home

Now lets get specific, if you have read the previous posts part 1 and 2 of this three part post you will see first we discussed identity, then system, and now routine.

If you havent read those I suggest you do then make your way back here.

The new year is coming up and Im sure you have lofty goals you want to obtain and will begin as soon as the new year comes. One of them is you want to be healthier. You have chosen a healthier version of you to be your new identity. You have also found out the things you need to do in order to be healthier, for example. You need to eat healthier food, you need to go to the gym more, drink more water, stop eating fast food, stop drinking, etc. This is the system you have found in order to become a healthier version of you.

Sounds good right?

Let me stop you right there and be blunt.

You already knew this, you arent healthy currently because your daily routine sucks, lets be honest.

Let me enter I (me) into the equation.

I am currently healthy and in shape and no I dont say that to toot my own horn, I say that to preface an epiphany I had. I suck at business, flat out.

Why am I able to structure programs to get people in shape, teach them to fight, eat right, become better at basketball, more athletic, stronger, faster, etc. but I suck at something that I said i wanted to be good at on the surface.

Same answer I gave you, my daily routine sucks, I’m being honest

We know what we need to do, it is easy to research and find the blueprint for what we need to do, however we havent embedded it in our daily routine.

You may not be ( insert whatever you have chosen to be your new identity ) yet, not because of effort, but because you do not have a daily routine (something you perform regularly, not just for a special reason) that supports you systems to show who you want to be.

your daily tasks should be things you need to complete based off the systems you have chosen that support your new identity

Show me who your friends (people you hang out with routinely) and ill show you who you are.

Lets both make an agreement to cut the shit and be who we said we wanted to be
