ITS A MOVIE

RESPECT YOUR ROLE

I’m going to preface this analogy.

Have y’all watched the Katt Williams interview with Shannon Sharpe?

I suggest watching it, however if you don’t want to let me pick the part of the interview that has me writing this post.

Towards the latter part of the interview Katt Williams brings up a point, that he has explained in different ways throughout the entire 2 hour and 46 minute interview.

Here’s the long

Shannon asked Katt Williams, what brings the best out of Katt Williams, do you need a serious actor, basically alluding to what actors he best works with or makes him Act his best

His answer was this, It was never what someone wanted. There was a script with characters and it was his job to make that character role the best it could possibly be.

Now lets rewind

Earlier in the interview, the role he played in Next Friday was brought up, Money Mike. Now if you haven’t seen Next Friday Money Mike is a pimp, yes you read it, now let’s get passed that. Katt Williams discusses how much preparation he put into this role, even in the work he took to land the role. What it told me is how much he respected his craft, not only was this his first movie, and a big shot at success there after, it was part of his integrity and that spoke volumes to me. This small role not only had such a big impact in the movie, which in hindsight was because of his preparation and respect for his craft, it has made a big impact on his life going forward as well.

What’s the point

We need to take ourselves and what we do serious however we do not need to think of ourselves as more important than others. The characters we play in the movie called life is only big or small if you include ego. Our impact and where we end up is more based on how we carry ourselves, not the “size” of the role we were casted as.
