THE METHOD TO MY…
BURGER MADNESS
Did I mention I love hamburgers?
What a way to start a post, however boy was it necessary. To those of you new to this newsletter it’s safe to say I have mentioned my love of hamburgers once or thrice.
So lets talk how I finessed being able to have a burger each day, if I so choose
First, it can’t be from a fast food chain, too many uncontrollable variables
So lets get to it
MY DOUBLE CHEESEBURGER
The bread
Brioche bun (from bakery)
Sourdough Bread (if I don’t have time for the bakery)
What’s the reason for these bread choices? Well through “research” our bread in America ( where I reside ) to say the least is “bad” for you. So I like to play both sides of the fence and meet somewhere in the middle. Apparently Sourdough doesn’t fall under the same requirements and bread made from a bakery has less preservatives
The Meat
85/15 grass fed ground beef ( Trader Joe’s )
We are playing both sides of the fence again, grass fed is supposed to be better 85/15 is the perfect mix of leanness to me where the patty doesn’t taste like a cracker, and I spread out the remainder of the fat necessary in my daily macros to account for this
The Cheese
New Zealand Aged Cheddar ( Trader Joe’s )
You should get the point by now, both sides of the fence, aged cheddar takes care of the lactose issue, cheddar tastes great, and I shop at Trader Joe’s
The Seasoning
Celtic Salt, apparently better than pink Himalayan sea salt, and if you don’t know now you know, table salt is the devil
The Sauce
Here is my introduction to one of my favorite words.Fuck, Fuck all that healthy shit when it comes to sauce (specifically for this burger because its the dirtiest thing i eat in the day and its post workout where your insulin levels are going to be the highest anyways so why not take advantage of it)
Ranch and Ketchup
For whatever reason I have been on a Ranch Kick Lately
A few extra things I do is gut the top part of the brioche bun so it creates a nice pocket for the sauce and toast the bottom bun
